Matt Cooke to Penguins??

Vancouver Radio station CKNW980am is reporting that the Canucks are in trade talks with the Pittsburgh Penguins. They would send LW Matt Cooke to the Penguins for RW Michel Ouellet.

Love it. The Nucks already have Taylor Pyatt, which by all accounts is a Cooke clone, and Oullette has tremendous offensive potential. So, overall, Nonis has replaced Cooke with Pyatt (who also has more offensive upside than Cooke) and obtained Oullette (who many scouts say could one day be a star in this league). As a fan, sure I hate to see Matt leave. But as a GM I would make this move any day.

I would be surprised if this happens unless it is part of a plan by the Pens to move a few other players..

They already have Roy, Petrovicky and Ruutu as agitators..

Also a few that pester like Talbot and Armstrong..

Can Eckman, Sid, Evegeni, Malone and Rechhi score enough to allow for all of those "blue collar" guys?

Roy and his salary could be moved to make room, though.
