Gomez To Calgary?
A trade rumour coming out of calgary suggest that the flames and Devils are still discussing a trade of Scott Gomez to Calgary. Matthew Lombardi now that hes signed seems to be the most mentioned name going the other way. I can only see this deal happening if the flames throw in some prospects and/or draft picks. NJ is definetly trying to trade Gomez though to free up money for Gionta

you people seem to be forgetting that New Jersey HAS to deal they're over the cap not Calgary...no way we give up more than Lombardi, maybe a couple of prospects and a draft pick.
I really like Lombardi too but if trading him means getting Gomez in return I'd make that deal and I'll cheer for him and NJ so long as they're not playing against Calgary.
The Flames need to free up 2mil. Right now there at $40.842m

Then they would be 1.9m above the cap then we could trade Langkow to Chicago or something

Those 3 Flames players will equal to more than 2 mil that they need to free up for Gomez

To NJ: Calgary and Edmontons 1st rounders, Lombardi,Taratukhin, Stoll, Dubnyk
