Conroy on his way out of LA?

According to Hockeybuzz.com, The L.A Kings have held discussions on sending Craig Conroy to Washington.

This does make sense for both teams, as the washington capitals could use a vetern centre to play with Ovechkin and the Kings are retooling through a youth movement up front with New GM Dean Lombardi rebuilting the the team in a different direction as before.

If true (and that's a big if considering the source [Ek]), What the hell is Lombardi thinking...

While there "might" be an attractive deal to be found, I think Conroy is important enough to the King's success that he should should not be on the trade block. Go ahead DL, I'm just waiting to bring out the 'Deanie the Weenie' riff!

Like it or not, he is one of the 3 faces of the team: Conroy, Blake, Norstrom... (EVERY team needs veteran leadership, production and heart!)

Don't sacrifice identity to continue the Manchester build. We're already looking pretty good with Brown, O'Sullivan, Kopitar, Clarke, Dallman, etc.

Another problem is that oh, yeah, no trade clause that Conroy has in LA. Don't see this happening.
